Worked in blowing snow and wind today with the guys. Temps are to only be in the high 20's Friday. We have storage sitting in the warehouse to crate up, but I really don't want to work in that cold. So I bring up the deal of "Since we don't have work Monday- and it is to be in the 40's- what say we take a three day weekend?"

I got lots of

Hell yes- works for me. :)

Do we get paid today? Yes, they did.

So... what time Monday? :D

I think todays cold, and the weather report of snow moving into the area after 8:00pm tonight got us ready for a three day weekend. That and we wouldn't of worked anyway with the snow. If school is out, I sure ain't asking them to come.

So... if it doesn't snow I got taxes to work on myself in the office. Of course I could also do that from home, leaving the office heat low, and letting my sister answer the phone at her home, extension there.

:)

Either way- I feel like my weekend has started a day early. Get home and do a few loads of laundry before the really cold temps hit, and I will be ahead of the game.

*rant*

You know- you wait to the last day to be out of your home, which is never a smart thing to do anyway. I mean... really?

Then you fucking get all bent out of shape when the weather is bad on that one day ... that ONE FUCKING DAY ... you gave yourself to move.

"Oh, I booked a mover in the middle of winter. So all is going to be well. It is there place to see I am moved, no matter what."

I can just hear you. Well guess what, no it isn't. Why the hell would any dumb ass leave the move for the last day, in winter????!!

I am already out a mailbox because the truck hit it, trying to get into your damn driveway and backed right into it. I know... I know.. that is my drivers fault, not yours. And there was three men in the truck... just begs to ask how many stupid men does it take to hit a mailbox, right?

But your bitch about the furniture getting wet in the down pouring of rain we have had since 7:30 this morning, the wind at 40 plus mph.

Fuck you.

By the time I replace the country club mailbox with the fancy ass light... be lucky to come out in the good on this move. So when I asked you if you wanted to hold off a few days for the move this morning when I tried to get you to do that- I am going to remind you each time you call me about your shit getting wet.

It is pouring the rain.

You are moving- which means all your shit goes outside.

What?

You want a tarp built to the truck walkboard?

Or maybe they should also carry a unbrella as well as your dressers, chest and couches?

Gosh..... why didn't I think of that?

Dumb ass fucker...

You got what you asked for giving yourself one day to move, in the winter time.

Myself and my men are thanking you for the colds, the sickness, and the freaking ass falls on the slick walkboard.

*thumbs up*

How bad is it when I answer the phone at work, and a lady asked me how the weather was. We talked a little about the storms when she ask "How is mother?"

Took that for me to make the connection that it was my older sister. o.O

Hey- not heard from her in over two years, not on holidays, not on Mother's day, nothing.

I told her Mom was good, storms bothering her. She said "Ok, well bye" and there she hung up.

Not to heard from again in a few years.

I hope.

Ahhh... to not go back to 1982. :) I use to wear this silk blouse with a black velvet suit, the jacket had no collar so I would wear the top 'fluff' on the outside of the jacket. Trust me- it was a outfit that got notice in this small town. *sigh* Of course the next day I would wear a old pair of jeans and a tshirt. Just the kind of person I was, still am.

High School Senior Portrait.

Otter might remember this one- she edit one of me that looks kind of like this, many years later. Like...uh..18. It is the profile pic on TheRat profile.

Not that big of a change for the time. Speaking of time- I have got to dye my hair. It has been over a year so... the gray is starting to bother me some. But at 46 I should have some gray, right? What age is the age to stop trying to hide the gray, I ask you?

Friday off due to the ice storm. Saturday and Sunday never even got out of the PJ's till Sunday night when I took a long hot shower, dried off, and climb into bed. *long sigh*

I really didn't want to get out of bed, nor go to work today.

Still don't want to be here.

Of course I know that is all of us, nothing special in my hate for my job.

The pictures below sucked. lol Can't even tell I have beige carpet, forest green couch, and the one chair is ivory with roses on it. The OverStuffed chair is a tan color. Good lordy, you would think I would of taken a better photo. Oh well... not really caring enough but to say "Well- that sucked." *shrugs*

In the office for the next two days, break from being on the jobs of late. Kind of looking forward to it but then I see the 'to do' list I started just a few minutes ago already has a dozen things on it... not looking forward to it now.

Wish they would hire more help around here. Oh wait... nevermind.

So glad I called off the move this morning. In our town they had 50 accidents just on the interstate, which we would of taken to get to the job. Pile up of tractor trailers just 4 miles north of our exit, the direction we would of went. And that was at 8:00 am this morning.

Even had a salt truck slide in a ditch in town, saw it on TV news.

I went to the office to do payroll before noon, around eleven this morning. Took 45 mins- car was covered in ice when I got back in it. Of course that was a ice covered, sliding walk.

Really really glad we wasn't out in it.

And with that- work is called off for the day.

*Sleeting outside*

Went out to check the weather after my shower and almost fell on the ice covered gravel, ice raining down.

:(

Shoot.

We had three more offices, did 10 yesterday, and we would of been done. Called the customer and he said he would see us Monday, sorry we wasn't coming as he needed his office back to 100 percent by the end of the day.

Well.. can't help it. Not worth risking my men, truck, and the customer's items in this kind of weather. If the men get in to the office without wrecking, you still got to travel the 25 miles to the site. Then walk on a metal walkboard to load the desk, file cabinets, etc.

What kind of business? It is a charity/ government grants that help build houses for poor folks. They also help with disasters aid.

What can I say- booked with "Weather permitting"

Winter- not the best time to move.

But now I am awake so- still got to get down and do payroll before noon.

Food... time to cook some food. And do my dishes, maybe vac, dust. Or a nap. The courier move last night after I got home into this morning really worn me out it seems.

What a day, what a day. Started out with a phone call from my sister before around 6:00 am with our Mother having fallen out of bed. A call to 911 had the help of two strong men to help get her up from the floor, as I couldn't do it myself. Mom is fine, bruised a little, sore.

High temp today was 21, wind chill in the teens. When I went to work at 7:15am, it was 11. Brrrr.

But the truck started just fine in the cold, and three folks got moved back out of storage and into remodel apartments. No more hotel rooms for them. Took a little while as one lady lost her key and they never did find it, leaving her with one other for in the morning. Waiting time sure adds up when you have jobs waiting.

Home now- going to warm up with some soup my sister made today. And then bed for me. Right after a small ritual for the blessings of today. Always something to give blessings for.

Always.

Today is Nightgames Birthday folks- go wish her Happy Happy please.

Uh... worked since 4:20 am, couldn't sleep so I just got up from when I went to bed at 11:00 pm. Catching up with me now that I am sitting, warm.

Can't stop yawning.

Did take some photos today... too tried to pull, edit, re size them tho. Maybe Saturday or Sunday.

Roofer might come Saturday to work on the warehouse/ and office bathroom that has had a leak for about a year now. Sucks at it is the time we set aside for Cat's birthday thing but when you can get a roofer to show- you don't put him off. Will know Saturday if he is coming or not.

Got question by a police man today why I was taking photos when I wasn't. o.O Well- I wasn't. Had the lens cap on, just reviewing my photos on the screen and he said I was taking photos of the back of the shopping mall. Uhh. huh? Of course it was the back of the movie theater I was taking the movie too so... and on the radio news was something about the reopening of the theater where the shooting happen during Bat Man movie.

Soo.. hot shower is really wanted. Then some food.

Just hope I can walk by that nice warm bed that has started to call my name in the last half hour tho....

Due to the building inspector not passing the apartments we were to move the people back into today- no work. :( Of course the lady in charge of the apartments didn't tell us till 6:30 this morning, as she couldn't get hold of the man yesterday to get him back out there this morning.

So....

Ice still on the trees, still spitting sleet.

Came back home. :) Sis said she would answer the phone, so I am taking the day to catch up on emails, and other things.

Super Natural is on the tube, my favorite one of the teens trap in the old abandoned asylum. They really spent some money on the set- would LOVE to find a place like that to take photos. :)

Weather here is crazy. Friday it was in the 70's and sunny. I came home and almost turned the AC on. While I have thick sheets on my bed, I kept waking up, kicking even the flat sheet off me.

Saturday it was cooler, but my heat never went on that is setting on 60. I went to bed with the house temp showing 69. Slept with the sheet, kicking it off at some point during the night.

Then last night it was cooler, but the heat still not kicking on. Sheet and blanket.

Tonight- it is sleeting outside. We went from 42 when I went to work at 7:00am, to 32 at 5:00pm. Snow is being talked about and my heat has been running off and on since I got home around 6:30pm.

From sunny and 70 to sleet, snow and below 30 tonight.

Funky winter, I tell ya.

And of course the weather change is coming on top of us having 4 good days of work booked. Nothing after this week so at least I can push it back if the customers will let me if we have to cancel due to snow.

Snow. :D

But going by the sound on my metal roof, I am thinking it is more rain/ ice right now.

I have been a Master Vampire for two years as of tomorrow. While I was accepted on New Years Day, it took a few days to get everything switched around. Thank god- took me that long to realised what I had done to my 'home away from home, fun site' from then on out.

I read a lot of journals saying the site has changed over the years. I have been here over 6 years, a few months from 7 years. Has it? Images always said it really hasn't done so and I am starting to think she is right.

Drama- VR always had it, has it still. Any site that is as open and full of different lifestyles as this site welcomes will.

Some say the site is built for drama with the honor comments, blocks, rates. That I don't believe in as the site is what you make out of it. If you only care about the numbers, the levels, and the honor then yes- it is going to be all about the drama. But if you care about meeting friends, folks who don't point and laugh when you share your darker side, who have a kind word during your darker days of life, who shares your likes and dislikes to a degree as they are on this vampire/gothic/darker site as well- then this site rocks.

No one is going to get along with everyone, and there will be 'online' gangs of assholes who like nothing more then try and start trouble. But to me it takes two to tango, and they get bored easy if you just let them stand in the middle of the floor and act out, pay no attention.

I see myself more of the gals sitting over on the bench, talking with others about The Walking Dead, or Dexter as they act out.

Good folks on this site, if you care to find them.

While I have been an Upper Admin, I still see myself as a Sentoran, my first 'job' here. Joli gave me that chance, Images helped me get seen as a Master Vampire pick. But it was Cancer who makes that call. Am I glad he did?

Most days. Somedays I wish I could go back to just being a member, happy and free to do as I wish.

The biggest change these last two years is knowing what I know, seeing it from behind the sceen, and unable to say a word. Seeing well known members still crap, hiding behind the unknown profile. I think AntiChrist is a good example of what we see everyday. Such bull crap- I can see why folks get burned out on the site.

Two years tho. On a site that has seen me being threaten to be kicked off, insults, and rude comments. But I can't write about that without talking about the great people I have meet in life, friendships, muses that made me pick up my camera again, pen some stories, and an welcome acceptance of my makeup looks. I came to this site at 39 years old, first time on a social site, heck.. online even. And the folks here that I call friends have done nothing but help and support me.

And the help, love I had shown to me from the many members during the death of my Father will never be forgotten. His birthday is the 19th, so he has been on my mind a lot. Members who I didn't even get along with sent me messages during this time, that shows you what kind of place this site is.

And that is why I am glad to be here, in whatever job or position needed. :)

VR- always something going on, just keep to the 'good friendly folks' and you can't go wrong.

I laugh when I hear people say VR is so much worse these days, more drama. I think back to Luciouswolf and his other half who ruined things for people playing games for favor. I remember Empress and her horseshit that got her banned for life, despite being one of the first members here. And I remember, god help me, when the house system went into effect. So no, it isn't worse or better now- it all comes and goes in waves, just like anything else around here.

Did I get it off VR? Nope.

I have been on several site today, looking at things like makeup, fashion, flowers, photos.

Just logging into a search engine can get this kind of spam trap tripped.

Ok- now that the compter is not doing pop ups at every click- got some things to do on this site so I can go to bed early. Raining outside and all I feel like doing is curling up in bed.

I try to have a green thumb. Most of the time it turns brown about half way into Summer but this year I want to try something new. Just one container - with a fairy garden theme.

Found some great videos on Youtube about them, so I am going to try it this spring. Sure I have a pot, just need the dirt and the four or five small flowers. Will make a bench with some twigs, and other things will come to me I am sure.

:)

Be great to sit on the porch, sunrise, enjoying a fire, and look over to see one of these.

I use to have a bonsai tree as a young teen, loved it. But I over watered it and killed it. Might have to try one again. I had it for three or four years before I killed it. Might not make that mistake again.

Here is one image I found online, to show you what I am thinking of. Wonder if Joli has ever done this? She once told me she loved minatures, and she does gardening. Hmmm... hope she tries it, and if she has, gives me some pointers. :)

Anyone else every done one of these?

Not a Batman fan, never have been. Really not a fan of many 'super heros'. Spiderman sucked. But that has a lot to do with the kid that played him. Even when he went 'dark' they couldn't make him sexy. You grease up his hair and but him in a dark clothing to make him sexy? Wow- he still looked like a ten year old boy.

I mean- at least Iron Man is sexy. Thor, Cpt. America. Ok ok... maybe it is just spiderman I disliked. But also Batman.

So when I say this latest movie made me go "OH MY GOODNESS!" I was talking about Bane. Of course knowing the actor who played him... made me even more 'loving it'. He made the movie for me.

Batman was in it, right? I mean the guy who showed his ass and rude to the cast and crew.. the rubber outfit.... oh forget it- Bane all the way! :)

But Stallone has out a new movie I want to see so bad with some Asian guy - Can't remember the name of it, and I adored him and all the guys in the Expendables and Expendables 2 - to me those are the kind of superheros I like, lol. But I've gotten into a lot of Korean drama and T.V. lately, and they have one coming out called City Conquest that is supposed to be absolutely amazing by the looks of the trailers...And of course it has the man I think is the most sexy in the world - Kim Hyun Joong...as the lead and the hero character Baek Mir (Pronounced like Back and Mir like you would say mirror) - Be still my heart, cause when I see him dance and hear him sing my panties go all wet, lol.

Funny- I haven't wrote in my journal of late. Wonder why?

I mean .. life is going on, great day with Birdy and Cat out taking photos of old homes, lazy Sunday that found me sleeping most of it, had truck trouble, flat tire on my car, doing this and that but really I guess the journal doesn't hold the same draw as it once did.

Blah... maybe I am just in one of those 'moods'.

I really need to work on those photos too.

Note to self in journal- get to editing the photos, still got Christmas Eve photos to edit of the kids.

Ha- maybe my journal is just going to be a reminder section now. Which is stupid as I don't read my journal again unless I get a comment so...

God, I am old.

We all go through those moments where things shift and what was, changes. Don't look at it as a "bad" thing, it is simply ebbing until the tide returns.

Well this "old cat" loves reading your journal so you can't give it up. It's also comforting to know when you really need to vent it's sitting right there waiting for you to pour your heart out.

Due to us being slow at work I offered up my three men for cash work. They are working for a Atlas driver on a pack and load in town. Started yesterday. Now- I have nothing to do with the move but seems trouble is abound with it.

The driver was late for his 7:00 am pick up yesterday of the men, thus calls to find him. He was lost

He took the men out to the job and, after seeing the job, has to get a U-Haul to haul it out, and also needed more packing.

Driver showed up, waited as I and my sister had went to get my truck out of the shop, so he was here when I pulled into the driveway.

Once I got the packing sold to him he ask if he could leave his trailer in the parking lot. Now the move is across town so I asked him if why he wasn't parking it closer and he just gave me a deer in the headlight look. Okkk.. sure, showed him where to park it and off he went.

Hour later- one of my guys called me to tell us the driver had had a accident bobtailing. Seems he is on the way to the hospital with a dislocated shoulder. What was they to do? I told them to keep packing. Two hours later another call from my guy and he tells me they are bringing another driver in from Ohio to finish the job, asked them to keep packing. Could I come get them at 5:00pm, bring them back to their cars? Sure.

So this morning I left early with one man to do a little job that took 3 hours, had him back just before 10:00am. Only to pull in and see the tractor and trailer still here, along with the two other men, sitting. Hmmm.. and they are to be done today? It is 10:00am, the job is not finished packing, and no loading has even been started. WTHeck?

No more then parked our truck and my sister pulls in the lot in her car, followed by a Uhaul truck. Two hours to get a truck? Really? Wow....

I come into the office, leaving my guys getting our equipment out of my truck as the other company has "shitty crap" to work with. And tools, seems not one tool was in the other truck to take beds down, mirrors, legs off. Whatever- I am cool with letting them use it, they will see it is returned.

So I am no more sit down at my desk when I get a phone call. Seems it is the lady whom they are moving, wanting to know if I knew who she was. "Yes I do." And the rant starts. Seems she and the driver from yesterday she wasn't inpressed with, and they hadn't even shown up yet today and it was after 10:00 am. Nothing I could do about that- but did ask how my men where doing. "Fine. They are really nice, tried to calm me down yesterday with all the stress. I mean- after the wreck I think they was ready to leave but they worked all day, packed. I have no problem with them. But do you know where they are now?"

I told her they was on the way, seems the hold up this morning was getting the shuttle van. She huffed a little more, and I let her. Better me then the men on the job. She thanked me and said she wish she never had heard of Atlas Van Lines.

Hung up, getting out the checkbooks to start payroll when I get another call from Atlas, looking for their driver. Seems the customer was having a fit and this man *I took him as a higher up in the company* wanted to know why the move was going so bad.

Uh- what? Dude= my men have been on time both days, they have worked. It is your drivers who are having the issues, problems. Shit happens, accident happens, getting lost happens. But you also can contol this a lot better. One- get a estimate done so you would know before hand how much labor, packing, and shuttle was needed. I would of done it for you for $75.00. Then you make plans, you leave and show up on time, you freaking control a job. Done if for years,... don't call me and ask me why "Your" move is not going well.

And by the way- how is the driver? "I don't know, nor care" Well... there is a clue. My men worked yesterday for 8 hours without a drink or food because they had no way to get anything. When I found that out this morning I chewed them a new hole. They should of called, I would of brought them something to eat, drinks.

"Well... sorry about that. I didn't know your men was stuck at the job site. And that your sister took my driver to three or four places to get a truck this morning. Just the customer is calling, bitching." Don't blame her- the truck should of been booked yesterday, pickedup this morning before 8:00am as you sent two men down from Ohio to do this move. Hell I would of went and got it for you, had it here if you would of asked. I understand you had a accident yesterday but it didn't change what needed done by this morning."

Lord... while I am feed up with the moving business I really hope that isn't what is taking it over from me.

Unfortunately the "don't care" attitude is rampant in service agencies.

"The customer is always right" has turned into "I do what the customer asks and don't do my job of EDUCATING them why"...

We need to go back to where we call professionals, and if we don't understand a charge we POLITELY ask why, so they can educate us on all of these little pieces that if covered effectively make the experience positive for all involved.

Don't sell yourself short, your experience is very valuable, and definitely don't give it away for free.

Called the beauty shop I usually get my hair cut and they was closed. The one other one and only one lady working and she was covered up. So I went to one that I have never used before. Heck- I was willing to go to a barber shop but it was closed too.

Back to the one I did end up in. HATED.

1- it was dirty. Floors needed mopped, and hair all over the place. Dusty. Just...ewww.

2- While the lady did ask and listen to what I wanted, she tugged my hair, pushed my head every which way doing it.

3- The scissors would tug my hair as she cut, pulled them away.

4- One inch nails is not the best thing to fold your ear over, move it out of the way. Ouch!

5- Using the shears on my neck she blistered my skin.

6- She cut the back of my ear.

So after half a hour when it a haircut for me is normaly 15 mins, she tells me she would blow dry it. Cool- 3 mins and I am out I am thinking. Oh nooo- gel, hairspray, two different brushed, wax gloop and more head pushing as her fingers tugged, pulled my head about I can't wait to walk out the door 10 mins later.

While I usually am charged $12.00, I pay $15.00 for a tip.

This place it was $17.00. What a rip off.

The most sucky haircut I have every had in my life.

Okay. Rule #1. If you walk in to a place like that and your first reaction is eeewwww, turn around and walk out. It is WAY easier to wait one more day and get what you want, than to wait for all that to heal up and grow out.

Rule #2. You have a right to tell the person doing the job that you are not happy with whatever aspect she is doing that upsets/irritates/hurts you. DO SO.

And I ain't just stating this for hair stylists. ANYBODY who is not doing a good job needs to be told, and why.

Good way to start the new year- locking yourself out of your home and car. lol This morning I had my hands full of my purse, 3 cases of diet pespi for Mom's house. So when I shut the door,,, what pisses is I set the pop down, open the door and locked it.. and shut it again as I forgot to turn the lock. lol

So it was at the car as I look in my purse to only remember my keys are on the contertop... Grrrr.

So I walked to work *all of 100 feet*, woke my sister up to get a key to the office, tracked Cat down to get my spare that she has. She is coming over before 5:00pm to let me back into my house. lol

I ain't nothing but trouble today. ;)

Worked yesterday at Mom's - got everything but one min-blind on the back door changed. We got the call my sis had just left the driveway as I was finishing up the bathroom. That last hour of running the vac, taking the trash out, etc. was a hoot. :D Well as much as 6 hours of cleaning can be.

But the whole house is spotless from top to bottom. I left before sis got home but understand she loved it. :) Yeah.

Then over to Cat's to spend some time. Helped her and her niece move the living room furniture around, got a table in the new craft room *aka- old kitchen* so I hope we can get back to playing again with the minature dollhouse rooms. Great thing to do in the winter slow times.

New Years past me by asleep till my sis, the one taking care of Mom this week, called me and woke me up. But that is alright, I returned the favor early that next morning to get her up so we could start cleaning. lol

Today is the day I am starting on the taxes, yeah!

*smerks*
